Joanna Gerlt, MHA, OTR/L, CPHQ

Joanna Gerlt is a healthcare executive and experienced corporate director in regulatory accreditation and readiness. Joanna’s 30 years of healthcare leadership experience includes developing, facilitating, and monitoring compliance with laws and regulations as well as directing clinical, operational, and quality of care oversight across multidisciplinary teams. 

As Corporate Director of Regulatory Readiness at Scripps Health in San Diego, Joanna managed organization-wide regulatory compliance that included development and revision of policy and procedure, and evaluation of operational workflow. Additionally, Joanna meticulously monitored and communicated ongoing regulatory updates issued by Federal, State, and local agencies where she interpreted when changes or vulnerabilities existed that required collaboration with subject matter experts and key stakeholders in the ongoing implementation and management of workflows that ensured organizational compliance. 

Joanna’s healthcare leadership experience further includes serving as Director of Performance Outcomes and Risk Management, Manager of Patient Safety and Regulatory Accreditation, Manager of Education Services and Staff Development, Clinical Educator, and Senior Occupational Therapist. Joanna is a certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) NAHQ, she is FEMA 100 and 200 Certified, certified in Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI), and is a registered Occupational Therapist (NBCOT/CBOT).

Joanna earned her Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration from Capella University where she graduated with a 4.0 with Academic Distinction and President’s Honors, and she earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Kansas Medical Center in Occupational Therapy.
