Angela Wicks, DNP, RNC-OB, CENP, NPD-BC

Dr. Angela Wicks is an accomplished nurse executive and healthcare leader with more than 20 years of experience in nursing leadership, operations, professional development, and patient care. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a commitment to advancing clinical excellence, fostering collaborative work environments, and leading evidence-based improvements that enhance patient outcomes and organizational performance.

Currently serving as Director of Acute & Critical Care Services at University of Maryland Shore Regional Health, Angela provides strategic leadership for multiple medical-surgical units, telemetry, intensive care, and vascular access services. She oversees clinical operations, staffing, budget management, and resource allocation while leading multidisciplinary teams focused on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. Her leadership emphasizes operational excellence, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and the development of high-performing teams.

Previously, Angela served as a Nursing Professional Development Specialist at Bayhealth Medical Center, where she led evidence-based practice initiatives, nursing research, quality improvement efforts, and policy development. She also served as Director of Women & Children's Services at University of Maryland Shore Regional Health, overseeing labor and delivery, postpartum, pediatrics, special care nursery, women's surgery, and operating room services. Under her leadership, the organization was recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of Maryland's Top 5 Hospitals for Best Maternity Care, reflecting her dedication to quality, staff development, and patient-centered outcomes.

Angela earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice in Leadership & Management from Wilmington University, following both her Master of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Western Governors University. She holds national certifications as a Registered Nurse Certified in Inpatient Obstetrics (RNC-OB), Certified in Executive Nursing Practice (CENP), and Nursing Professional Development Board Certified (NPD-BC). Known for her strategic vision and collaborative leadership style, Dr. Wicks is passionate about developing nursing leaders, strengthening interdisciplinary partnerships, and advancing healthcare through innovation and evidence-based practice.
