Infection Prevention
Nash Healthcare Consulting provides on-site assessments designed to identify and mitigate infection risks as well as deliver feasible solutions. Our assessments include a detailed written report of findings and recommendations that support the facility’s path to compliance.
Our consultants are seasoned nurse surveyors with senior leadership experience who bring their understanding of organizational leadership to the Infection Prevention role.
During a mock survey, the NHC nurse surveyor specializing in infection prevention conducts a thorough examination of the hospital, focusing on the most frequently cited standards. The areas of concern including sterile processing and instrument processing at the point of use are meticulously evaluated in the operating room, labor and delivery areas, the Cath Lab, and other procedural areas.
NHC consultants are equipped to provide focused assessments designed to evaluate the hospital and healthcare facility’s infection control program, assess reported data, assess data outcomes, and apply interventions to improve undesirable trends.
The NHC infection prevention consultants are fluent in the most current standards. They will survey hospitals or healthcare facilities to ensure the best outcome for the patient and a survey. For example, the NHC infection prevention nurses will evaluate all updated standards against the infection program and perform a gap analysis. After the gap analysis is complete, recommendations will be made. Assistance with interventions will also be made available.
Lastly, all NHC surveyors are fully trained to provide comprehensive facility and staff evaluations including staff members' knowledge of the manufacturer’s instructions, their understanding of the Spaulding Classification, low-level disinfection, especially after using the blood glucose monitor, hand hygiene, and how these activities are integrated into the infection control program.
As a service to every healthcare facility, NHC provides interim Infection Prevention staffing as a continuum when finding quality professionals is challenging.
