Gayle Nash, RN, MPH

Gayle Nash is a highly experienced registered nurse with dual Master’s degrees in Health Services Administration and Public Health. She boasts over 35 years of expertise in nursing, nursing administration, hospital administration, accreditation, and quality assurance. From 2001 to July 2014, She served as an Integrated Nurse Surveyor for the Joint Commission, where she evaluated healthcare facilities against nationally recognized standards set forth in collaboration with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to ensure patient safety and quality care.

Throughout her distinguished career, Gayle has held the position of Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) at multiple facilities, most recently at MountainView Regional Medical Center. In this role, she demonstrated a thorough understanding of the standards of care, including the provision of functioning equipment, and oversaw the responsibilities of the Risk Management and Quality Improvement Departments concerning equipment failures. Gayle has been instrumental in managing patient care operations, quality assurance, conducting root cause analyses, and reporting equipment failures to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Her extensive experience also includes providing education and training for hospitals in preparation for accreditation surveys, addressing risk management issues, conducting risk assessments, and developing policies and procedures for reporting equipment failures to the FDA. She has effectively developed corrective action plans to resolve citations and has been a key resource in guiding hospitals through accreditation requirements, survey preparation, mock surveys, and compliance assessments.

As a former nurse surveyor for the Joint Commission, Gayle's 13 years in this role caps a remarkable thirty-seven-year career in clinical nursing, nursing administration, accreditation, and quality assurance. Additionally, in her role as CNO for the New Mexico Department of Health, Gayle surveyed long-term care facilities under CMS conditions of participation.

Gayle Nash's expertise lies in providing comprehensive guidance and instruction on obtaining and maintaining accreditation, with extensive experience in compliance regulation, organizational assessment, and consulting for both CMS and the Joint Commission. With over 25 years of executive experience in hospital administration and 20 years in compliance regulation, Gayle is a seasoned professional dedicated to ensuring the highest standards in healthcare.

EDUCATION:

Gayle has a Master’s Degree in Public Health from the University of Minnesota, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Services Administration from Ottawa University. She also has an active registered nursing license.
