William “Bill”Lord, BSPharm
Bill Lord is a healthcare executive with more than 30 years of experience leading corporate healthcare regulation and pharmacy operations including regulatory compliance, pharmacy automation, operational enhancement, and compliance with USP Chapters 797, 800, and 795. As a former Pharmacy Director and Vice President of Operations, Bill is a specialist in medication distribution, inventory and operations management, reimbursement, oncology contracting, and he brings decades of experience implementing controlled substance and drug diversion strategies.
As a senior level pharmacy consultant, Bill is specialized in applying standards of care in preparation for The Joint Commission’s rigorous survey and accreditation process. Through mock survey preparation, Bill routinely prepares healthcare facilities in the areas of hospital, ambulatory, home infusion, and ambulatory infusion.
Bill is the former Corporate Pharmacy Director for Community Health Systems where he served and led pharmacy operations for 20 years. Bill’s leadership strength was instrumental in successfully implementing clinical program developments, and pharmacist decentralization including maximizing technician responsibilities and driving drug savings. He utilized Joint Commission resources and standards to overhaul facility-wide employee training and compliance to ultimately achieve operational compliance. His leadership initiatives in policy creation and operational enhancement also supported corporate home health departments including home health nursing, home infusion, durable medical equipment (DME), and respiratory.
In his early career, Bill served as Vice President of Operations at McKesson Medication Management, a McKesson pharmacy management division, where he managed and directed corporate sales and assessments of pharmacy services including acute care, outpatient pharmacy, long-term care, home infusion, managed care, and corrections pharmacy.
Bill has a long-standing and proven track record of facilitating and implementing successful, systemwide healthcare operations and pharmacy initiatives that position him well to make an immediate impact on shaping the future of healthcare and pharmacy. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from the University of New Mexico. He is the Chairman of the New Mexico Board of Pharmacy, a member of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), the New Mexico Society of Health-System Pharmacists (NMSHP), the New Mexico Pharmacists Association (NMPHA), and the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP).
