Harold Blits, BS, CHSP

Harold Blits has 30 of experience in clinical and administrative healthcare roles in environment of care, life safety, and accreditation. Harold has consulted on healthcare accreditation matters for more than 25 years supporting more than 150 organizations. Harold’s experience includes Joint Commission Environment of Care, Life Safety, and Emergency Management, as well as CMS COP’s in Physical Environment, Emergency Preparedness, and Infection Control. 

Throughout his career, Harold has supported healthcare organizations in the development of their Evidence of Standards Compliance, Statement of Conditions, and CMS Plan of Corrections including those for Condition Level and Immediate Jeopardy citations. 

Harold has been trained as a Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program Surveyor for Physical Environment and Life Safety under Accreditation Standards for Acute Care Facilities and Critical Access Facilities. Currently, Harold is the Vice President of Facilities Services in a Midwest hospital in addition to serving as an ongoing surveyor nationwide.

Harold earned his Bachelor of Science in Fire Science and Safety Engineering, he is a member of American Society Hospital Engineers, a Certified Healthcare Safety Professional, and NFPA – CLSS. Harold is also a Critical Care Paramedic, Firefighter, and he is a member of the Kansas Incident Management Team (IMT) for disaster response.
