Jared Shapiro, DrPH, MPH, FacEM, CEM, CHSP, CHEP, NRP

Jared Shapiro is an accomplished healthcare executive with 18 years of experience in healthcare administration, operational management, regulatory compliance, clinical engineering, and performance improvement. He is an expert in Life Safety Code Compliance as well as Joint Commission and CMS standards for Environment of Care and Emergency Management. Jared also serves on The Joint Commission’s Emergency Management Standards Review Panel for Hospitals and Home Care programs consulting on issues impacting Environment of Care, Life Safety, Emergency Management on Federal, State, Tribal and County levels.

Jared is a Life Safety Code Compliance and Management Consultant and Senior Associate with Nash Healthcare. In this role, Jared provides education and development services to hospitals and executives in the areas of Life Safety Code Compliance, Joint Commission, and CMS standards.

In addition to his consulting roles, Jared currently serves as the System Associate Vice President of Environmental Health and Safety for the Montefiore Health System in New York. He oversees all aspects of the Environment of Care, Life Safety, Hazardous Waste, Construction Safety, Radiation Safety, Emerging Infectious Disease Program, Employee Safety, Pre-hospital Care, and Emergency Management. He has also worked with Keller Army Hospital at West Point, NY on issues of emergency preparedness and coordination and evaluation of their annual mass causality and decontamination exercise.

Jared is an Associate Professor at New York Medical College’s School of Health Science and Practice where he teaches the Master of Public Health program.

Jared holds a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) from New York Medical College and a Master of Public Health (MPH), complemented by numerous nationally recognized professional credentials. He is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Managers (FAcEM), a Certified Emergency Manager (CEM), a Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP), a Certified Healthcare Emergency Professional (CHEP), and a Nationally Registered Paramedic (NRP). These credentials reflect his extensive expertise in healthcare emergency management, life safety, emergency preparedness, and public health leadership.
