Jessica Rindels, MBA, BSN, RN, CIC, CPHQ, HACP-CMS, FAPIC, LSSGB

Jessica Rindels is a distinguished Infection Prevention professional with a decade of specialized experience and more than twenty years as a Registered Nurse. Her career is defined by excellence in patient safety, regulatory readiness, and quality improvement. Ms. Rindels has held progressive leadership roles, including Manager of Infection Prevention & Control at Overland Park Regional Medical Center and serving as President-Elect, President, and Past-President of the Greater Kansas City (GKC) APIC Chapter (2024–Present). Her leadership portfolio also includes chairing and co-chairing multiple high-impact committees, such as the High-Level Disinfection/Sterilization Policy & Procedure Subcommittee at Children’s Mercy Hospital. She has also led systemwide initiatives, including serving as Team Lead for the COVID-19 Needs Assessment and Unit Starter Pack Build Team during the pandemic.

Ms. Rindels influence extends to the state level through six years of service on the Missouri Nurses Association Nursing Practice Advisory Committee and to the national level through her involvement in the Children’s Hospital Association SCOPE Collaborative and her role on APIC’s National Practice Guidance Committee. Ms. Rindels is also a committed mentor, supporting the professional growth of emerging infection preventionists through the GKC APIC Mentorship Program.

Ms. Rindels holds a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Leadership and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Tabor College. She maintains multiple prestigious credentials, including Certification in Infection Prevention & Control (CIC), Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), Healthcare Accreditation Certified Professional (HACP-CMS), Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, and the distinguished Fellow of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control & Epidemiology (FAPIC) recognition.

A respected contributor to the field, Ms. Rindels is a published author in the APIC Text of Infection Control and Epidemiology and several journals, including Infection Control & Hospital Epidemiology and Prevention Strategist. She has delivered national and regional presentations on dialysis infection prevention, pediatric dialysis rounding tools, and practical approaches to infection prevention.

Known for her collaborative approach, meticulous attention to detail, and ability to translate complex regulatory and epidemiological concepts into practical solutions, Ms. Rindels is committed to fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement. She partners closely with clinical leaders to support compliance, enhance staff education, and drive measurable improvements in patient outcomes.
