Robert Licciardi, DMBA

Mr. Robert Licciardi is a water systems and safety professional with extensive hands-on experience in water treatment, mechanical systems, building water safety, and facility operations. As a Senior Water Systems and Safety Engineer with Kroff Chemical Company, Robert works with commercial, institutional, industrial, healthcare, and wastewater facilities across the Northeast, helping organizations improve system reliability, operational efficiency, compliance, and water safety.

Robert brings a unique combination of technical field experience and business expertise to the water treatment industry. His practical background as a Local 638 Journeyman Steamfitter gives him firsthand insight into mechanical rooms, piping systems, boilers, HVAC systems, and the real-world challenges faced by facility owners and operators.

A particular focus of Robert’s work is building water safety and Legionella risk management. He is passionate about helping facility professionals look beyond routine testing and treatment to identify the underlying conditions that can create risk—including stagnant water, low-flow areas, system design issues, temperature control, and inadequate water management practices. His work frequently addresses ASHRAE 188, water management programs, cooling towers, closed-loop systems, and the relationship between system design and water safety.

Robert is also an active industry educator and communicator, using his professional platform to share practical observations and lessons from the field. His approach emphasizes asking the questions that are often overlooked and connecting technical water-treatment principles with the operational and liability concerns facing building owners and facility managers.

He holds a Doctor of Business Management and Administration (DMBA) and graduated magna cum laude from St. John’s University. Robert combines technical expertise, field experience, business acumen, and a strong commitment to protecting people and improving the performance of the buildings and systems they depend on.
