Stephen Anderson, MBA, BSN, RN, CJCP, FACHE

Stephen Anderson has more than 40 years of experience in healthcare administration, including expertise in clinical and executive management, performance improvement measuring, and patient safety with an expertise in hospital, ambulatory care, patient safety, and performance improvement consulting. As a former field representative (surveyor) for The Joint Commission (TJC) and Joint Commission International (JCI), Mr. Anderson conducted consultations and educational programs both domestically and internationally. He also brings experience from numerous health care settings including not-for-profit, academic medical, and healthcare management within private health care delivery systems.

Before joining The Joint Commission, Mr. Anderson served in the following roles: he served as Client Executive at a 50+ hospital system, Senior Director of Clinical Improvement & Patient Safety, Associate Administrator for a Level One Academic Medical Center, Assistant Vice President for a not-for-profit Children’s Hospital, and he served as Director for Ambulatory and Professional Services. He also served as an advisor, trainer, and consultant to a rural hospital Board of Trustees and medical staff advising on regulatory requirements, policy, and bylaws as well as ongoing professional performance evaluations.

Mr. Anderson holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing and Master's in Business Administration. He is a Certified Joint Commission Professional (CJCP®) and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE). In addition, he is a former President of the American Academy of Ambulatory Care Nursing.
